Steering sound on Altis

posted March 24, 2010 10:52

Dear Gibs, I'm Leo from Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Recently I'm hearing a "grinding like" sound whenever I'm turning my steering wheel left or right especially if the car is at stop - just applying the brake. I can hear this even at Reverse direction and most likely during maneuvering at the parking. What could be the problem? My car is Toyota Altis 2005E A/T. Thanks in advance.

Leo

Dear Leo,

Replace your fluids. That's going to solve it because your old fluid is not that good anymore, perhaps it is too old and too rough for the pump to push the power rack.

Thanks for writing.
