At the New York Auto Show, Kia was out in full force with the debut of an important worldwide model: the all new Kia Rio sedan.

Scheduled to join the Kia lineup sometime in the year - along with its hatchback sibling unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show - the all-new Rio ushers in the next chapter of Kia Motors' ongoing design-led transformation with high levels of eye-catching design, advanced technologies and sophistication in the small car segment.

Conceived at Kia's design studios in Irvine, Calif., the Rio sedan and hatchback exhibit highly sculpted sloping shoulder lines and wedge-shaped exteriors, projecting an athletic profile. Inside, the new Rio envelopes driver and passengers in a bold and modern cabin, centered on Kia's characteristic horizontal three-cylinder instrument panel; two-tone for the 2012 Rio to emphasize a feeling of spaciousness and comfort.

The all new Rio will available with a 1.6-liter GDI (gasoline direct injection) four-cylinder with the option of either a six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic.

Also at the NY Auto Show is the new Kia Soul, updated and upgraded for the 2012 model year. The new Soul has received its mid life update, and gets a new look as well as a series of new engines with gasoline direct injection for improved fuel efficiency and power.
