Lighter, lower, and more agile
The all-new 2013 Porsche Cayman was formally launched in the Philippines by Porsche Center Philippines in an exclusive event held recently in Alabang. The third generation of the Cayman was displayed and showed its lower and longer wheelbase that's complimented by a lighter body and engine choices that's more powerful than ever.
It's design got revamped with the front end now marked by larger air inlets that's matched with another air inlet on the side of the car that directs airflow directly to the engine. The rear aluminum lid meanwhile features a thin blade of the rear spoiler that now deploys at a steeper angle to improve its aerodynamic qualities further.
The mid-engine sports car now features Porsche's lightweight body design that contributes up to 30kg reduction in its overall weight and is offered in either the Cayman or the Cayman S versions. The base model is powered by a 275 hp 2.7-liter flat six engine that can send the car from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds before it reaches a top speed of 266 km/h. The Cayman S meanwhile is fitted with a 325 hp 3.4-liter engine that can send the car from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 283 km/h.
Both coupes are equipped with six-speed manual transmission as standard with the seven-speed Porsche PDK offered as an option.
