37th running of Thailand's biggest motor show

With an exhibition space of more than 140,000 square meters, the 2016 Bangkok Motor Show is said to be the biggest motoring exhibition in the ASEAN region. The 37th running of the motor show kicks off on March 23 with over 40 car and motorcycle manufacturers displaying their latest models.

“The 37th Bangkok International Motor Show will be held under the theme of 'No Boundaries Mobility'. This symbolizes the reflection of the international automotive industry, of which has been developed with cutting edge innovation and technology to overcome and go beyond several limitations. The automotive industry, thus represents the technological advancement of humanity, which has been improved and developed over times and also implies the readiness to enter the ASEAN community.” said Dr. Prachin Eamlumnow, the President of the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show.

With that said, the show's highlight will be the display of electric cars, plug-in hybrid vehicles and various concept cars from the participating manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz will reveal its plug-in hybrid vehicle while BMW will come with the new X1 sDrive 18d, the high performance M2 and their first plug-in hybrid in the country, the 330e. Mazda will also debut the updated CX-5 (introduced in last year's Manila International Auto Show) and Honda has set the stage for the regional debut of the ASEAN spec tenth generation Honda Civic.

Eamlumnow adds, “At this year’s show, the visitors will have an opportunity to witness a more advancement automotive innovation such as an electricity power driven car or electric vehicle (EV), a plug-in hybrid vehicle, of which the battery is charged through a household power outlet, a hybrid vehicle and a car that’s powered by turbo engine. All of these are the alternative innovation and technology that benefit to a greater fuel consumption efficiency and environmental friendly too.”
