GS F brings in updated GS models for 2016
Lexus' entry in the high performance luxury sport sedan class has arrived in the Philippines. First unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the GS F serves as the brand's flagship performance sedan.
The GS F is Lexus' second high performance sedan after the IS F, sold from 2007 to 2014. The arrival of the GS F also signals the entry of the updated GS 350 and GS 450h as well. These updates include reshaped headlights, bumpers and tweaked tail lights. Compared to the standard GS, the GS F comes with more aggressive bumpers with a carbon fiber front lip, a sportier spindle grill and larger air dams. Another addition over the standard model is a carbon fiber trunklid lip spoiler and trapezoidal quadruple exhaust pipes. The GS F rides on a staggered set of wheels and tires measuring 255/35R19 in front and 275/30R19 at the back.
Inside, it gets special sport seats and F-Sport badges on the steering wheel, center console and kickplate. Adding to the sporting feel of the car is an Alcantara trimmed dash with leather inserts and carbon fiber trim. It also gets the updated infotainment system with a 12.3 screen with improved graphics and is controlled by the brand's Remote Touch Interface on the center console. More Alcanatara trim can be found in the door panels and armrest.
As for performance, the GS F is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 that pumps out 473 PS and 527 Nm of torque. Power is then shifted through an eight speed sports automatic transmission and can be manually shifted via the paddle shifters. Keeping the car planted is a torque vectoring differential and a Nurburgring and Fuji Speedway developed suspension setup. Stopping power is provided by upsized slatted discs on all corners and six piston calipers up front.
The GS F is also loaded with safety kit. The high performance sedan is equipped with a Pre-Collision System with automatic braking and pedestrian protection. Radar Cruise Control can also be found in the GS F along with Lane Keep Assist, adaptive high beam lights and a blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic assist.
Prices for the revamped Lexus GS are as follows:
Lexus GS 350 F-Sport: PhP 5,288,000
Lexus GS 450h: PhP 5,778,000
