Subaru PH launches the Impreza-based Levorg wagon
Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, has launched the 2016 Levorg at Capitol Commons in Pasig City.
The 2016 Levorg is a wagon that is based on the Impreza and derives its name from Legacy (LE), Revolution (VO) and Touring (RG). With than in mind, Subaru says the Levorg is a vehicle that “combines the performance and practicality of a tourer, with the stylish design and feel of a sports car.”
Executive Director of Tan Chong International Glenn Tan said in a statement that the Levorg is an innovative tourer which is targeted at family-oriented and adventurous customers.
"Subaru’s brand new model is an Innovative Tourer that combines the sports performance of Subaru with the practicality of a wagon. "With a newly developed boxer engine, agile handling and abundant loading space, we feel that the Levorg will appeal to the functional, family-oriented and adventurous customer who appreciates performance, touring capabilities and ample cargo space,” said Tan.
Up front, the 2016 Levorg is fitted with the brand's hexagonal grill and hawk-eye headlights. It also has an aggressive bumper, a vented hood and chrome accents. Turning at the side, the Levorg is characterized by sharp lines, as well as a sloping roofline.
The rear of the 2016 Levorg has sweptback taillights, a large bumper, a shark fin antenna and a roof spoiler. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a chrome plate garnish and twin tail muffler.
Dimension-wise, the 2016 Levorg measures at 4690mm long, 1780mm wide and 1490mm tall. It also has a cargo space of 522 liters in the back.
Inside, Subaru says the Levorg aims to deliver “first-class driving comfort and an exhilarating steering experience.” It comes with a black interior theme as well as a three-spoke steering wheel, a multi-touch infotainment system and an easy-to-read instrument cluster. The seats, as well as the door panels, come with blue stitching and the cabin is accented by silver trim.
The Levorg also comes with Subaru's SI-Drive, a system that modifies the way the engine performs. It offers three driving modes: Intelligent (I), Sport (S) and Sport Sharp (S#). Other than the SI-Drive, the 2016 Levorg has a High Beam Assist (HBA) feature that is said to increase the visibility when you're driving at night. It also has a rear vehicle detection, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system and Active Torque Vectoring (ATV).
The 2016 Levorg is powered by a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) Boxer petrol engine that delivers 170 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It is mated to a lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Subaru PH has priced the 2016 Levorg at PhP 1,718,000.
