More power for new-generation Audi R8

The all-new, second-generation Audi R8 V10 Plus has just made its local debut. According to Audi, the R8 V10 Plus is designed for maximum driving dynamics and one of the last supercars to be powered by a naturally-aspirated engine.

Uprated V10 engine for the R8 Plus

Being the V10 Plus model, this higher performance variant packs more power than the standard R8. providing the necessary grunt for the R8 V10 Plus is a 5.2-liter, 40-valve engine that delivers 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque. As Audi's halo car, the Audi R8 V10 Plus sends power to all four wheels through the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The powerful V10 engine is mated to a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. Audi adds that the R8 V10 Plus can do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and will go on to a top speed of 330 km/h.

For stopping power, the R8 V10 Plus comes equipped with 380-millimeter carbon ceramic brakes with six piston calipers up front and four-piston ones at the rear, and is finished off with 20inch wheels with 245/30 tires in front and 305/30 at the rear. There are various driving modes to select in the R8 V10 Plus. Audi highlighted the car's performance mode which offers three additional modes: dry, wet, and snow.

As for the exterior, its full-LED headlights, along with its large air inlets with vertical fins, flank the wide, signature Singleframe grill finished in gloss black. Another identifying mark of the V10 Plus are the carbon fiber sideblades which is gloss silver in the standard model.

The rear, on the other hand, is defined by the diffuser, the ventilation screen of the engine compartment, and as standard in the V10 Plus, a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) fixed wing.

The R8 V10 plus also comes standard with Audi virtual cockpit, a digital instrument cluster that is user configurable, and shows all displays in 3D graphics. If desired, it can display one large rev counter, along with auxiliary gauges that show much more information, such as tire temperature and torque output. Moreover, MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch is standard equipment.
