BYD marks third year in the country as F0 microcar gets minor updates

Chinese automaker, Build Your Dreams (BYD) recently celebrated their 3rd anniversary with the theme “Change is Coming”. Here, they unveiled the new models joining the local BYD range, the all-new S7 and the updated 2017 F0 with Solar Transport

Starting with the S7's exterior, it features front plating grille and body-colored exterior door handles as well as an LED logo. It is then fitted with Michelin tires mounted on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. It is also equipped with rear spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, halogen headlights, panoramic sunroof, and roof rack.

Inside, it gets a leather steering wheel with controls for audio, bluetooth, panoramic images, and cruise control are at his fingertips. Also standard is an adjustable steering wheel for angle and height, and 8–way power adjustment driver’s seat. The 4.3-inch TFT LCD screen feeds necessary information about the vehicle's condition. Other amenities include Bluetooth mobile phone music, 10.2-inch touch screen, center console LCD compass, 9 speakers, 5.1-channel stereo system, SD + AUXillary + USB interfaces, and 12-Volt power supply socket.

 Under the hood of the BYD S7

Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0-lite engine with stratified combustion, and direct injection. It is then mated to 6-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission and power is delivered to the front wheels. Output is rated at 153 PS and 320 Nm of torque.

Its safety features include Electronic Stability Program or ESP, Electrical Park Brake or EPB, engine electric immobilizer, intelligent key system, remote central door lock, reverse radar with 6 sensors, 360° camera, driving state display, Brake Override System (BOS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System or TPMS, cruise control system (CCS), and disc brakes on all corners.

Moving to the updated BYD F0, updates include remote central locking, HPS or hydraulic power steering system, electronic back door, front side door electric windows, and rear side door electric windows. Other amenities include an adaptive tachometer, LED index with backlight, AUX port and Smart Keyless Entry System.

Under the hood is a 1.0-liter engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission (AMT).
