Prices for 2017 BR-V to start below one million Pesos

Weeks after the first drive of the Honda BR-V, the company has just announced the prices for its latest crossover. During the drive, HCPI president Toshio Kuwahara said that they are aiming for a starting price of less that one million pesos. It appears that HCPI has delivered on that front.

The base price of the 7-seat crossover starts at Php 989,000. With this pricing, HCPI says it currently makes the 2017 BR-V the "most affordable 7-seater SUV in the Philippines". The base price indicated is for the entry-level model, the BR-V S CVT. Honda adds that, despite the sub-1 million peso price tag, the BR-V S CVT is equipped with Fog Lights, Roof Rails, and 16-inch Alloy Wheels.

It also packs a 7-inch Touch Screen Display Audio, Digital Air-conditioning Controls, and Rear Airconditioning System with Independent Controls. Honda also claims that the BR-V boasts best in class ground clearance while making advanced safety features standard at this price point. These include Vehicle Stability Assist and Hill Start Assist.

Topping the range is the BR-V V Navi CVT which adds more features for the seven-seat crossover. On top of the features of the S CVT variant, the V Navi CVT gains Smart Entry with Push Start System, navigation powered by Garmin, automatic climate control, power folding mirrors, and paddle shifters. Additions to the exterior include front and rear bumper garnish, chrome side sill garnish and and LED position lights. In addition, this top-of-the-line variant is trimmed with leather seats. Prices for the top of the line BR-V starts at  Php 1,119,000.

The Honda BR-V is powered by the 1.5 liter i-VTEC L15 mill that powers the Mobilio, City and Jazz. It puts out 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque and benefits from Earth Dreams technology as well as dual overhead camshafts. Local variants of the BR-V will all be front wheel drive and shift via a continuously variable transmission.

Color choices for the BR-V includes Taffeta White, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl. Exclusive to the top of the line model is White Orchid Pearl and Premium Amber Metallic. Customers may test drive the All-New BR-V at the Auto Focus Test Drive Festival at SM Mall of Asia Grounds from November 17 to 20, 2016.
