Isuzu D-Max gets refresh, more tech, features for 2017
Isuzu's contender in the midsize pickup segment gets an upgrade after Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently launched the 2017 D-Max at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay City. Described by Isuzu as bolder and sportier pickup, the 2017 D-Max gets a revamped exterior along with a redesigned interior that aim to make it more ergonomic and elegant.
The updated D-Max gets a more sculpted hood and a new front grill. Also present are the tweaked projector headlights that now come with LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The tailgate, on the other hand, has been redesigned as well and now has a spoiler shape design according to Isuzu. Other exterior features present on the 2017 D-Max include the: LED taillights, power-folding side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals and the chrome door / tailgate handles.
Inside, the refreshed pickup gets a redesigned instrument panel and multi-information display that are easier to read according to Isuzu. Manual models now have a gear indicator display which can be seen within the engine tempeature and fuel gauge cluster. The D-Max wil also come with the following amenities; automatic climate control, leather seats and a 7-inch touchscreen display with navigation. New, however, is the smart key entry and engine start/stop button.
Under the hood, the 2017 D-Max is still powered by the familiar 3.0-liter 4JJ-TC (Hi) turbo-diesel with Variable Geometry System (VGS). It generates 163 PS at 3200 rpm along with 380 Nm of torque at 1800 – 2200 rpm. Available transmissions for the 2017 D-Max include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic with sequential shift.
Both 4x2 and 4x4 models of the D-Max get a new driver-assist package. With it, the updated pickup now comes standard with electronic stability control (ESC), traction control (TC) and hill-start assist (HSA).

Available colors for the 2017 Isuzu D-Max 3.0 LS are: Cosmic Black, Obsidian Gray, Splash White, Titanium Silver and Venetian Red.
