Flagship SUV now gets variable geometry turbo
With a range of new and updated models from Mitsubishi, the automaker now turns its focus on their flagship SUV, the Pajero. For 2016, the Mitsubishi Pajero gets an updated diesel engine that gives the Pajero a significant power hike.
Although still running the 4M41 mill, Mitsubishi has now added a Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) for turbodiesel Pajero. Without VGT, the diesel Pajero's mill put out 165 PS and 373 Nm of torque. Thanks to the model update, power is now rated 192 PS and and 441 Nm of torque. This upgrade makes the Pajero the most powerful diesel model in the local lineup to date. Power is then transferred to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual select. The Pajero also comes standard with Super Select 4WD-II.
Standard equipment in the updated Pajero includes HID projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and automatic headlights.
The 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero is also available with a 3.8 liter V6 MIVEC gas engine.
Pricing of the 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero are as follows:
Pajero GLS 3.8 V6 4WD Gas A/T - PhP 2,550,000
Pajero GLS 3.2 Di-D 4WD Diesel A/T - PhP 2,750,000
