Mitsubishi PH updates the Strada GLS 2WD for 2017 with new 2.4-liter mill
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) continues to bring clean turbo-diesel technology in their model lineup after launching the 2017 Strada GLS 2WD. It is now powered by the 2.4-liter MIVEC Clean Diesel powertrain and comes with an updated exterior.
First debuting in the all-new Montero Sport, the 2.4-liter Clean Diesel powerplant is more eco-friendly than the older 2.5-liter turbo-diesel without sacrificing pulling power. It generates 181 PS at 3500 rpm along with 430 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm.
Available transmissions for the new Strada GLS 2WD include a 6-speed manual and a 5-speed INVECS-II automatic gearbox with a manual sports mode.
To differentiate it from other models, the 2017 Strada GLS gets a new dark chrome grill and a side step plate. Power folding side mirrors finished in chrome also come as standard and come with integrated LED turn signals. The front foglights, on the other hand, now feature integrated daytime running lights while the rear bumper gets new foglights for added safety. It is then topped off with new 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the seats are upholstered in high grade black fabric, along with a 4-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls. Magnesium alloy paddle shifters are also available when specified as an automatic.
As for safety tech, the 2017 Strada GLS 2WD comes with the following: anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), dual SRS front airbags, rear ISOFIX anchor seats and speed sensing door locks.
The 2017 Mitsubishi Strada GLS 2WD is now available in all authorized dealerships and comes with a 3-year / 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
