NSX to be launched in 2015 with prototype making a track appearance in Ohio.
Acura gave a preview of a prototype NSX supercar that will run on the track prior the Honda Indy 200 IndyCar Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The supercar is pending for a 2015 launch. The development is led by engineers at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. in Raymond, Ohio while the production will be produced at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.
The prototype model remains similar to the NSX Concept that debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The production vehicle will be powered by a mid-mounted V-6 engine mated to a three-motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system.
The Honda Indy 200 Indycar Race will be broadcasted live on August 4, 2013 by NBC Sports Network at 3pm EDT.
