ArtPetron 2007 call for entries
This year's theme celebrates the Filipino's multi-racial heritage through the landmarks and architecture that stand as testament of the cultures that touched ours throughout history: Malay, Chinese, Spanish, American, Japanese, etc. Contest entries may feature landmarks such as lighthouses, bridges, monuments, parks, town halls and other historic places around the country that have existed for over 50 years.
This painting/photography contest is open to students 15 to 28 years old who are enrolled in a regular college or university fine arts course or in a museum-based or private tutorial art program. There are three categories: oil/acrylic, watercolor/water-based media; and black & white photography.
Six (6) first prize winners (three from each Painting category) will receive Php 50,000 and an ArtPetron trophy made by National Artist and chairman of the ArtPetron board of judges Napoleon V. Abueva. Six (6) runners-up (three from each Painting category) will receive Php 20,000 and an ArtPetron trophy. The Photography Category will have six (6) first prize winners who will receive Php 30,000 each and an ArtPetron trophy. Six (6) runners-up will receive Php 15,000 each and an ArtPetron trophy.
The school or museum-based class of first prize winners of the painting category will receive a special gift from Petron Corporation. All qualified participating artists will be given a Certificate of Appreciation.

Deadline of entries is July 26, 2007 if submitted to Petron bulk plants nationwide and August 2, 2007 if submitted to the ArtPetron Secretariat Office c/o Studio5 Designs. The Awards Night will be on August 30, 2007 at the Cultural Hall, Petron MegaPlaza, 358 Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City.
