AM-RB 001 to have a 6.5L Cosworth V12, carbon fiber chassis from Multimatic

It seems the match that was made in automotive heaven is about to come true.

Aston Martin, the evocative British marque of exemplary sports cars, and Dietrich Mateschitz's Red Bull will push through with the AM-RB 001; a 1000 PS hypercar that will push the boundaries of automotive performance.

The hypercar, which will have a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, is powered by a high-revving 6.5L Cosworth V12. To put the power down, Ricardo has built a 7-speed, paddle shift transmission to be linked to the powerful V12.

Multimatic, known for building chassis, built the carbon fiber MonoCell of the AM-RB 001. Rimac will then provide the hybrid battery system in the hypercar. The list of partners does not stop there, Bosch will be supplying the ECU and traction control along with the ESP.

The AM-RB 001 will definitely be fast, but it also has to stop. Stopping the hypercar, Alcon and Surface Transforms have worked together to build lightweight brake calipers and carbon discs. UK-based Wipac provides the full LED headlights and taillights.

No official weight has been released by Aston Martin, but the AM-RB 001 is expected to tip the scales around 1000kg. This is assumption is based on Aston Martin revealing that the power train will produce 1000 horsepower.

Like most hypercars of today, Aston Martin only intends to limit production to 150 units, including the prototypes. Furthermore, 25 of the 150 units will be a track-only model. The price for an AM-RB 001 costs $3 million. Unsurprisingly all of the road-going units have been sold, although some of the race only models are presumably still available.
