Crossover coupe shooting brake concept for Audi in Detroit
Audi has released sketches of its upcoming ‘show car’, a compact coupe crossover concept which is set to take center stage at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next month. The concept is described as a ‘high ground clearance with a distinctly sporting slant.’
The design features a modernized version of Audi’s quattro design language and the overall shape of the allroad concept incorporated with a ‘shooting brake’ body style. It will be 4200mm long, and features a powerful stance with a seemingly sleek sculpted monoblock form. It will sit on 19-inch wheels to emphasize the impression of concentrated energy. The aluminum underbody guards at front and rear emphasize the width and protect the car off road.
Aesthetic elements typical of e-tron models like ribs in the Singleframe grille and in the side air inlets, fit in harmoniously with the overall design concept. The dual headlights and the honeycomb-structured Singleframe grille indicate the further development of the quattro design language which Audi already presented with its Sport quattro concept car shown at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt.
