Both cars will be available in 2015
Audi recently unveiled the facelifted 2015 Q3 and RS Q3. The Q3 gets updated exterior looks and more environmentally-friendly engines while the more powerful RS Q3 also gets a facelift but a beefier engine which can let it sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
From the outside, both cars receive a more aggressive trapezoidal grill and revised headlights equipped with HID lighting as standard. An optional LED lighting can be opted for as well as dynamic turn signals which are featured on both the front and rear light cluster. It has body measurements of 4.39 meters in length, 1.83 meters in width, 1.59 meters in height and a wheelbase that measures 2.60 meters. According to Audi, the dimensions virtually remain the same.
Audi did not elaborate any interior updates but the standard Q3 gets a black interior trim, a round steering wheel and white leather seats. The RS Q3 also gets the black treatment for its interior trim but has a flat-bottom steering wheel and seats finished in black Nappa leather with diamond quilting. The standard Audi Q3 has a stock storage capacity of 460 liters but can be increased to 1,365 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
Powering the Q3 lineup are a range of 1.4-liter TFSI, 2.0-liter TFSI and 2.0-liter TDI engines. The 1.4-liter TFSI variant generates 150 PS while the 2.0-liter TFSI on the other hand is capable of creating 179 PS. Depending on the model, the 2.0-liter TDI variants can be had in either a 150 PS or 183 PS rating. All models can be equipped with either a manual or automatic gearbox, can run in either quattro or FWD layout and emit 17% less carbon dioxide according to the German automaker.
Providing motivation for the RS Q3 is a 2.5-liter inline-five TFSI engine that cranks out 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque, 30 PS and Nm more than the previous model. It is mated to a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox, runs on the quattro drive system and can hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Other standard equipment present on the RS Q3 include 19-inch wheels (20-inch wheels optional), bigger front disc brakes with eight-piston calipers and the RS Sport Suspension that can be equipped with optional adaptive dampers.
