Nissan Thailand launches NISMO brand with Performance, Aero packaged Almera
Nissan Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. today underlined its commitment to the Thai market and to Thai motorists’ increasingly sophisticated needs with the official launch of the NISMO brand in Thailand. Highlighting the launch event was the unveiling of the Almera NISMO Performance Package and Aero Package at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show.
Soichi Miyatani , President and CEO of Nissan Motorsports International, (NISMO), said that this milestone showcases the ongoing expansion of the NISMO brand globally.
“NISMO is Nissan's performance and personalization brand, the ultimate essence of Nissan’s promise to deliver ‘Innovation that Excites’,” said Miyatani.
The company also added that NISMO models appeal not only to performance seekers but also to customers that want a bit of fun in their cars. The motorsports-inspired aerodynamics and improved handling of the NISMO GT-R – will appeal to drivers who are looking for an exceptional driving experience added the company.
As previously mentioned, present during the event is NISMO Thailand's first offerings, the Almera NISMO Performance Package and the Almera NISMO Aero Package. As Nissan claimed, the Almera is the company's best-selling eco car in the country with a total sales of over 130,000 sold since its introduction in 2012. Nissan aims to broaden the model's market share by introducing a sportier variant courtesy of NISMO.
It's not all aesthetic upgrades as the company also noted that it gets better aerodynamics and an improved suspension system for sharper handling.
“The launch of the NISMO brand is proof of Nissan’s commitment to making exciting driving experiences accessible to all our Thai customers. We are very confident that our customers will love the NISMO brand and the high performance characteristics of our line-up,” said Kazutaka Nambu, President of Nissan Motor Thailand Co, Ltd.
Beyond that, Nissan Thailand also announced their continued support of the 3rd season of the Nissan GT Academy.
“Looking toward the future, Thai customers will also experience the Nissan Motorsports Spirit more as we plan to increase our support of world-class motorsports activities. This year, I am very pleased to announce, we will continue supporting Nissan GT- Academy which turns gamers into real-life racing drivers following the overwhelming success of seasons 1 and 2,” said Nambu.
