Beijing 2016 Preview: Mazda releases CX-4 teaser images image

Mazda reveals key details of the CX-4 ahead of official reveal

Mazda will indeed be arriving at this year's Beijing International Automotive Exhibition after releasing several new details and teaser photos of the upcoming CX-4.

Starting with the exterior, the new crossover features the brand's Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy, along with similar styling cues from the CX-5. The front lip spoiler, side skirts and A-pillars are all blacked out and provide contrast to the metallic finish.

The side, on the other hand, shows a coupe-like profile, roof rails, chrome fixture on the window frame and a defined beltline. Moreover, the company also stated it will be available with LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels in a two-tone finish.

Interior details were also limited but based on the image, it seems to have white leather upholstery and wooden trim pieces.

Powertrain options have yet to revealed as well.

Based on our previous report, the upcoming CX-4 could be the production version of the Koeru concept that first debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It goes beyond traditional crossover design according to Mazda and has the latest in cabin amenities. It also somehow resembles the Mazda3 Hatchback though gets an increased ride height and slightly sleeker design.

In addition, Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai also stated in another report that they are considering to produce a production version of the Koeru concept which would slot beside the CX-5.

It will be making its official world debut on April 25, 2016.
