The BMW i3 is an all-electric, zero-emission vehicle worth $55,000.

BMW has donated an i3 worth $55,000 to Make It Right, the charity founded by Brad Pit that builds green homes for the needy and also puts up buildings and communities.

The BMW i3 is made of ‘carbon fiber reinforced plastic’ making it strong yet very lightweight.  Inside it is made up of recycled plastics, ‘responsibly forested eucalyptus wood, plant fibers and olive leaf extract.’ It is already available in the United States and has been named the World Green Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year.

Make It Right, with the help of Sandra Bullock, has raffled off the i3 and will use the proceeds to build environmentally friendly homes in New Orleans, Kansas City, Newark and the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.  Make It Right homes now stands at 100 units and all of them are designed by the world’s top architects.
