BMW to showcase new eco technology at Frankfurt

As the home show for the BMW group, the german automaker will be unveiling several new concept cars and a long list of new BMW production models at Frankfurt.

i3 Concept

At the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), the BMW i brand will present two very special vehicle concepts: the BMW i3 Concept, which was dubbed the Megacity Vehicle during the development stage, will be presented as the first purely electrically powered production car within the BMW Group, targeting the future challenges of mobility in urban environments, and as the first premium electric vehicle it interprets the pioneering attributes typical of the BMW brand.

i8 concept

The BMW i8 Concept will be presented as a member of the latest generation sports cars: progressive, intelligent and innovative. Its unique plug-in hybrid design combines an internal combustion engine and an electric drive, resulting in an exceptional driving experience - with extremely low fuel consumption and emissions.

Alongside the i Concepts will several new BMW models including the 2nd generation 1-Series and 560 horsepower M5, as well as a duo of new diesel variants under the EfficientDynamics Edition line: the BMW 520d and the BMW X1 sDrive20d. Both cars features BMW's latest fuel saving innovations, and both cars are claimed to do 22.2 kilometers per liter according to the EU cycle.
