ConnectedDrive autonomous driving can drift

Look Ma, no hands!

You would have thought it was all electronic gadgets at the 2014 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show, but you'd be wrong as BMW seems to have taken to joining the world's premiere tech trade show armed with a new BMW M235i and an M6 Gran Coupe that can not only drive all by themselves, but can drift all by themselves.

In a demonstration at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, BMW headlined their ConnectedDrive technology. The system is described to use “advanced control technology to demonstrate maximum safety up to the car’s dynamic limit”. The system, as evidenced by the photos and the video, responds to understeer and oversteer using the automatic brake input.

See for yourself below. Just when you thought you'd seen everything, BMW goes that little -sideways- bit further.
