Robert Bosch Inc., sole Philippine distributor of Bosch automotive products and power tools, recently debuted its new endorser team racers Jeff Borja, JP Tuason, Tyson Sy, JP Cariño and racing legend Pocholo Ramirez in a karting enduro for the media and Bosch's newest endorsers on March 9, 2006 at City Kart in Sucat, Parañaque City. Billed as Bosch Media Kart Enduro 2006, the event carried the theme "Born Driven: Precision. Power. Performance." and highlighted Bosch's unwavering support to Philippine motor sports and reinforced Bosch's commitment to deliver products that are invented for life.

"The company draws confidence from our local, home-grown talents. These drivers are at par with their international counterparts in terms of skill and determination. We can expect bigger and higher accomplishments from them, which will bring honor to both the country and the sport," said Michael Tengonciang, Bosch key executive for automotive products.

The new Bosch Endorser Team is led by motor sports icon Pocholo Ramirez. Already an institution in the racing scene, he has proven his flair for the sport, winning several Driver of the Year awards from several distinguished motor sport bodies since the 1960s, during which he was already racing using Bosch products. Mr. Ramirez has been a champion racer at rallies, circuit racing, slaloms, as well as formula racing. His latest achievement is his win at the XCS Super Saloon Series in 2000.

In 2005, Bosch renewed its support for Asian Formula 3 Champion Tyson Sy, the country's latest pride in the fast lane. This eighteen-year-old wonder has taken the racing circuit by storm by winning the 2004 Promotions Driver of the Year in the Asian Formula 3 Series. He is also the youngest Filipino to compete at the Macau Grand Prix and arguably the best Filipino driver to compete in Macau since the late Arsenio "Dodjie" Laurel's victory in 1962.

Also a member of Bosch's powerhouse team is JP Cariño, chief executive of Bosch Intelco Racing. A multi-awarded racer in several karting events both here and abroad, JP also gives driving lessons to kids who aspire to be the country's next Michael Schumacher.

Jeff Borja of Dark Side Racing is an up-and-coming racer who has won several racing championships in the country. His achievements include finishing first in the 2003 and 2004 Ford Lynx Cup and in the 2005 Petron-PLDT Autocross. He is currently competing at the 2005 Philippine National Touring Car Championship.

Rounding-up the Bosch team of endorsers is JP Tuason, son of racing legend Arthur Tuason. JP has already won awards in several karting championships and was twice named Philippine National Karting Champion. He has been driving in the Asian Formula 3 Series since 2002 and has participated in several races abroad. Together with his wife and his brother, he manages the Tuason Racing School (TRS) the first and only professional racing school in the country.

While the company's flagship product remains the sparkplug, the company also manufactures fuel pumps and filters, lambda sensors, oil filters, high tension wires, brake pads, and wiper blades for tropical climate, among others. It has also developed the technology for ABS, ESP and the common rail fuel injector system.
"Bosch aims to make Philippine racing a testing ground for the durability and reliability of Bosch automotive products," says Tengonciang. And as Bosch products make motor sports safer for all its drivers and enthusiasts, it also continues to make driving on city streets safer for all Filipino motorists

As a progressive institution committed to providing innovations and solutions that are "invented for life," Bosch continues to be a Filipino partner that supports and believes in the capabilities of the Filipino in the motor sports arena.
