Mercedes-Benz follows up on the E-Class Saloon

Five months after introducing the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, CATS Motors, Inc., general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the Philippines, fulfills its commitment of offering a wide range of Mercedes-Benz models as it launches the coupé version: the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé.

The new E-Class Coupé from Mercedes-Benz aims straight at the senses with a charisma befitting a sports car. With its classic coupé side aspect, no B-pillars and fully retractable side windows, the newest coupé is a distinctly sporty interpretation of the E-Class's dynamic design. The entire front section is a more extreme interpretation of the twin headlamp face, and a more sinewy build give it a racier and more dynamic presence. Another design feature is the powerful contour of its rear wing, finishing off the aura of Mercedes-Benz' new grand touring coupe.

Inside, the designers have continued the sharp design of the exterior with an interplay of surfaces and clearly defined lines, creating an interior whose elegance and highly perceived value are evocative of modern architecture. The cockpit is structured horizontally with a dark upper section in order to avoid unwanted reflections, while two tone colors continue to create intriguing contrasts. With its sports look and feel, the cockpit design is clearly in keeping with the agile character of the new coupé.

Under the hood is Mercedes-Benz's venerable 3.5 liter V6 engine (for the E 350), capable of 272 PS of power for the rear wheels for acceleration figures of 6.3 seconds from naught to 100 km/h. The usual slew of modern Mercedes driving dynamics (AGILITY CONTROL), luxury appointments, advanced technology (COMAND APS, among others), innovative safety features (7 airbags, PRE-SAFE, etc), the E-Class coupe is poised to take on the sports-coupe, grand touring car market. The AMG Sport option is standard, equipping the car with an AMG front apron with larger intakes, side skirts, rear apron, and 18-inch AMG lightweight alloy wheels.

The new Mercedes-Benz E 350 Coupe AMG Sport is priced at PhP 5,980,000.
