Chinese carmaker invades Cebu
Mr. Raymund Basubas, Managing Director of Chery Cars Cebu related that the brand has been well accepted for its first two months and have sold out their initial inventory of twelve units. "We are very delighted with the warm reception of the brand in our province, our first batch of inventory was sold out in just a short time. We see this a good beginning and hope to increase sales as more people will know more about our cars," Basubas added.
At this year's Cebu Auto Show, Chery leads the Chinese invasion of the event with the biggest display at the show featuring five cars from its vehicle lineup. On display were the Tiggo, V2, V5, Karry and the QQ subcompact, which recently won in the 4th Annual C! Awards as the "Mini Car of the Year".
To date, the Chinese carmaker enjoys sales of more than 1,000 units in 2008 and is expecting to sell more than 3,000 units by year-end. Iseway Motors plans to put up more dealerships nationwide making its total number of dealers to thirty to reach more potential customers according to Mr. Tito Yupangco, Dealership Network Manager for Chery.
