GM sweeps the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year
The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Silverado were named the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show. The Corvette Stingray and the Silverado were chosen as the North American Car and Truck of the year respectively. Winners were chosen by 49 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada.
The awards are designed to recognize the most outstanding vehicles of the year which are based on – innovation, comfort, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value.
The Corvette Stingray, which was given 211 points by the jurors, stood victorious over the Mazda3 (with 185 points) and the Cadillac CTS (with 94 points). This marks the sixth car win for General Motors (GM).
The Silverado also emerged victorious by getting 219 points which outlasted the new Jeep Cherokee (with 174 points) and the Acura MDX (with 97 points).
