Chevrolet Corvette turns 65, gains carbon fiber pack
To honor the 65 years of the Chevorlet Corvette's iconic lineage and heritage, Chevy has unveiled the new Carbon 65 Edition package, which will be offered on the upcoming 2018 Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ models. The Carbon 65 Edition package will be limited to 650 units only, and does include some upgrades to transfer some of that heritage on to a modern package.
Included in the Carbon 65 Edition is a new bare carbon fiber exterior aero pack which includes a front lip, side skirts, rear spoiler and quarter ducts. To help accent the carbon fiber goodies installed, a new set of black wheels with carbon logo centercaps have been installed. Giving contrast to the black/carbon look, the brake calipers have been painted in blue. A unique set of blue fender stripes, and door graphics further distinguish the Carbon 65 Edition from a standard Corvette.
Inside, the cabin has been finished in a jet-black suede material with blue stitching to match the exterior color scheme. Continuing with the carbon fiber feast from the exterior, the steering wheel and the interior trim have been given the carbon fiber treatment as well. Convertible owners also get a special blue top finish as well.
Aside from the Carbon 65 Edition package, the standard 2018 Corvette has some minor equipment upgrades as well by having an HD digital radio, an optional performance data recorder, and a new rear-view camera.
Price for the Carbon 65 Edition Package starts is an additional $15,000 US on top of a Corvette of the customer's choosing. Both the Carbon 65 Edition pack and the 2018 Corvette lineup will make its public debut at the New York Auto Show.
