Buoyed by the recent success of the Mercedes Benz and Chrysler brands in the country, DaimlerChrysler AG recently launched its newest dealership, located along the "Automotive Row" within Chino Roces (Pasong Tamo) Extension in Makati City.

The event was attended by Dr. Rainer Thiel, president and CEO (chief executive officer) of DaimlerChrysler Southeast Asia, and Peter Mackenzie, DaimlerChrysler Southeast Asia regional manager for Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge operations. "We found in CATS Motors, Inc. a committed, resourceful and experienced partner in the Philippines. We are extremely pleased about the business progress over the last 18 months. CATS Motors, Inc. has extensively invested in sales and service facilities as well as in people skills. The increase of sales and awareness for all our brands active in the Philippines is significant. CATS Motors, Inc. now offers customers two Mercedes-Benz and two Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge outlets in the greater Manila area. I am confident that CATS Motors, Inc. will continue its success story. Our great products, combined with excellent facilities and utmost customer orientation, offer a competitive edge for CATS Motors, Inc. here in the Philippines. We congratulate CATS Motors, Inc. with the launch of their new impressive showroom in Makati City," said Thiel.

The launch of the new dealership heralds another milestone for the German-American marque since 2005, when CATS Motors, Inc. became the sole official distributor of Mercedes Benz and Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicles in the country. 2005 saw CATS Motors Inc. launch several new models under the Chrysler brand (including the Chrysler 300C, the new Dodge Durango and the Chrysler Town and Country multipurpose vehicle), new models under the German triple star (the new 223-body S-Class, the B-Class subcompact car and the ML 350 sport utility vehicle) and a Mercedes Benz dealership at Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The first half of this year saw the launch of Chrysler's new crossover sport utility vehicle (the Chrysler Pacifica) and the return of the Jeep brand to the country (with the launch of the Jeep Commander) in the Manila International Auto Show.

Chrysler for "cheap"

With the opening of Chrysler Makati, CATS Motors also announced several new promos for vehicles under the Chrysler brand. The first is a "300C for 300K" campaign which allows anyone to acquire a 2006 Chrysler 300C for a down payment of Php 300,000 or a monthly payment of only Php 30,300 a month.

Those looking for a vehicle with high ground clearance (and a big interior) this rainy season might want to check out the new Dodge Durango. Since the Dodge Durango can comfortably fit eight passengers, and go through flooded areas or muddy roads with its tough 4 x 4 drive system, the ride even gets better with a new promo designed to make customers grab life by the Dodge horns. Those who wish to get the Durango can opt for a low downpayment of only Php 199,000 coupled with Php 50,000 worth of free gas.
