Three days left before the big show

The countdown begins as the 6th Manila Auto Salon flags off on November 29 to December 2, 2012 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The show will once again be a proving ground amongst local automotive aftermarket shops on what they can do to one's car, from a minor cosmetic enhancement all the way to an all-out tuner ride that will definitely be an eye-candy for the car crazy show goers.

“The anticipation grows towards the opening day. Rumors are strong about intense face-to-face competition between the big guns and major upsets are expected because of the creativity and expense some of the participants have put in,” explains organizer Tradeshow International President, Sophie de los Santos. “Our Manila Auto Salon Facebook site is abuzz with activity in the last couple of days with some shops actually providing some insight into what they will be putting on display.”

The hotly contested Best-in-Show brings the big names in the custom automotive aftermarket shops, notably Autoline Motorsports, A-toy’s Body Kits, Concept One, 199 Off Road House, FM Garage, JWorks Unlimited, Jeff’s Off-Road Shop, Speedlab, Starbright Body Kits on a level playing field along with the younger players in the industry.

“With nearly 10,000 likes, the support of the fans of the MANILA AUTO SALON also gives us an insight into what we will expect in the show,” explains Sophie. “Car enthusiasts have gone from mere onlookers to actual judges. On their own, they quickly make their decision on who to like and who not to like. It goes beyond just the car. They look at the complete car--the set-up, display and the babes form part of the mental checklist.”

For 2012, the Manila Auto Salon will also be hosting the debut of the documentary titled “Racing with Legends.” The documentary DVD highlights the connection between the cars, the crowd and the memories of the golden age of Philippine motorsports,” expressed event organizer Sophie de los Santos.

Also this year the proximate distance from another Tradeshow International organized crowd drawing event--the 20th Defense and Sporting Arms Show—brings a total market size to about 100,000 spectators.

Ticket prices are P100 for adults, P50 for children 10 years and below and free for children 3 years old and below. An omnibus ticket is also available at P180 to gain access to both the MANILA AUTO SALON and the 20th Defense and Sporting Arms show.
