Davao Mayor offers vehicles as bounty for anti-drug vigilantes, informants
Controversial Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is at it again.
Staying true to his 'The Punisher' moniker, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has declared open war on drug pushers in his city, even offering vehicles as bounties for anyone who kills a drug dealer in his city.
In an interview with TV5, Duterte declared flat out that he is prepared to award a brand new Isuzu Crosswind to anyone who captures or brings information that leads to the capture of a drug dealer in Davao.
A more expensive vehicle awaits vigilantes as killing a drug dealer will be tantamount to receiving a brand new Mitsubishi Montero Sport.
Of course many are questioning where such funds to acquire the vehicles would come from, but the Davao City Mayor has qualified that the drug pushers have to be the 'big-time'; the big fish, so to speak.
Duterte has stood firm against alleged human rights violations in connection with many “disappearances” and extra-judicial killings in Davao. Last year, Duterted issued a threat to criminals that they may choose to “leave Davao vertically or horizontally”; leave or be buried 6 feet under.
Duterte was nicknamed 'The Punisher' by Time Magazine for his methods in cleaning up Davao City of criminal elements.
So, is a brand new Montero Sport good enough bounty for killing a Davao drug dealer?
