3rd alarm fire consumes Wheel Gallery
Sometime around 1-1:45 PM today (Friday, 13 December 2013), a fire broke out at the Wheel Gallery showroom along Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue corner M. Paterno street in San Juan. The facility was the home of Concept One Wheels of Sam Liuson and Bilstein Philippines owned by Arvin Lim.
According to initial reports of witnesses on the ground, the blaze was started by a gas tank explosion. At 1:47 PM, the MMDA reported on their Twitter account that the fire had reached the 3rd alarm. Update: The explosion was caused by an acetylene tank used by contractors making tire racks for Wheel Gallery.
Based on initial witness information, all employees in the building were able to get to safety.
The RAHA Volunteers Fire Department posted a photo (below) at around 3:20 PM wherein the blaze seems to be under control.
The Wheel Gallery building housed the automotive aftermarket business of Sam Liuson such as Concept One Wheels, Saffiro Tires, Nitto Tires, Black Rhino and other brands. The fire also consumed the office of Arvin Lim, the local distributor of Bilstein shock absorbers.
