Improvement to enhance road safety

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) had announced the completion of the roadwork along Manila North Road(McArthur Highway) from Meycauayan, Bulacan to San Manuel, Tarlac.

Among the improvements made were the paving and widening of the road sections from 2 lanes to 4 lanes(2 lanes per direction) to increase the road capacity and ease traffic flow. LED traffic signal lights were also installed in 53 intersections while 14 intersections underwent 'geometric improvements'.

For added safety to commuters and residents nearby; pedestrian lanes, loading and unloading zones, 64 accessibility ramps for handicapped persons, and a total of 115 road signs were installed and marked as part of the rehabilitation.

With these improvements, the agency hopes to improve both the traffic condition as well as the road safety along the stretch of Manila North Road that covers a total of 67 intersections.
