New road intends to enhance tourism access
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that the road leading to the white sand beaches of Gumasa in the municipality of Glan in Sarangani Province has been completed.
According to the DPWH, the said project involved road concreting and widening of two routes along Sarangani – Davao del Sur Coastal Road leading to Gumasa beach. In detail, the first route is composed of concreting and expansion of a 0.75 km road from 4 to 6 meters. On the other hand, the second route involves the road concreting of a 1.28 km access road.
The agency adds that the project was implemented under the Department of Tourism-DPWH Convergence Program on Enhancing Tourism Access in Soccsksargen Region. The road passes through agricultural land and beautiful scenery overlooking Celebes Sea and white sand beaches.
