DPWH is set to implement PhP 2.3B worth of projects in CDO
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed three major infrastructure projects amounting to PhP 111 million in Cagayan de Oro (CDO).
DPWH Region 10 Director Evelyn T. Barroso cited the inauguration of the completed flood control project along CDO river; access road leading to Dao Heritage Tree and Mapawa Nature Park; and road concreting and drainage project at Berjaya resettlement area.
According to DPWH, the biggest among the three projects in terms of “project cost” is the 1.9 km “tourism road” with drainage and slope protection leading to Dao Heritage Tree and Mapawa Nature Park. This PhP 49 million “tourism road” provides more efficient accessibility in the mentioned tourist destinations.
Another project is the five meters tall and 146 lineal meters long flood wall along CDO River which amounts to PhP 48 million. Lastly, the DPWH completed the concreting of 541-lineal meter circumferential road of Berjaya resettlement area in Barangay Camaman-an.
Other than the completed infrastructures mentioned above, the DPWH is set to implement PhP 2.3 billion worth of projects in CDO under the 2015 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that the ammount will be used to fund a total of 66 infrastructure projects in CDO.
The 2015 budget allocation includes 24 road concreting/rehabilitation projects; 14 building projects; eight flood control and drainage projects; six road widening projects; four improvement of off-carriageway projects; four bridge projects; two coastal road projects; one diversion road project; and one bypass road project.
