Road repairs will be from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has resumed the repair works for the Magallanes Interchange in Makati City last August 21.

Road repairs kicked off with the removal and installation of expansion joints at Stage 1 which covers the Manila to Alabang segment.

In line with the said project, DPWH and contractor J. D. Legaspi Construction will be occupying one lane at a time to keep the other lane open for public use. The DPWH also managed to secure a road repair clearance from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) which allows the contractor to work on the structure on weeknights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The series of repair works at the Magallanes Interchange includes the following stages: Ayala to Roxas Boulevard (Stage 2), Alabang to Ayala (Stage 3), Ayala to Manila/Alabang (Stage 4) and Roxas Boulevard to Ayala (Stage 5).

The DPWH adds that the Magallanes Interchange will undergo retrofitting activities to restore its structural integrity. The retrofitting process includes epoxy injection on top and bottom of the slab as well as the application of fiberglass and skim coat at the second level structure for Stages 1, 3 and 4. The same process will be applied to the third level structure for Stages 2 and 5.

The Magallanes Interchange is a four-level interchange in Makati City. It serves as the junction between the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).
