Fiat's Super Panda is the only all-wheel drive A-segment vehicle
Fiat will be introducing the third generation of its four-wheel drive bestseller at the Paris Motor Show next month. The Fiat Panda 4x4 will be the only model in the A-segment that has a four-wheel drive system.
The Fiat Panda 4x4 also refered by Fiat as a 'genuine Super Panda', and is equipped with a permanent four-wheel drive system that makes it ready to tackle mountain mule tracks and the urban jungle in the same assured manner. They also reassert its capacity to compete with off-road vehicles of much greater dimensions and higher prices.
Once it's out, two engine versions of the Fiat Panda 4x4 will be available: the new 85 HP 0.9 TwinAir Turbo and the 75 HP 1.3 MultiJet II diesel mated to a six-speed gearbox with low-range first gear to ensure better uphill performance. It is also equipped with a torque-on-demand transmission system with two differentials and an electronically controlled coupling.
Fiat will introduce the Panda's extensive and versatile range, the Trekking and Natural Power versions at the Paris motor show next month. The Trekking version combines off-road looks with smart front-wheel drive by implementing Fiat's Traction+ technology while the Panda Natural Power version is equipped with a dual fuel 80 HP 0.9 TwinAir Turbo engine that can run on either natural gas or petrol.
