Honda Thailand releases first images of the 2016 Civic
Honda Thailand has just revealed the first official images of the 2016 Civic that will be offered in the ASEAN market. The Civic is one of many models that is imported into the Philippines from Honda's Thailand facilities.
Based on the images, the ASEAN-market Civic is nearly identical to the model that was revealed in Los Angeles in 2015. The new model features the "Solid Wing Face" design with the sharp LED headlamps, and appears to be more of a fastback rather than a 3-box sedan. The variant photographed by Honda is the RS variant with the blacked out grille, a spoiler, and the larger wheels.
The Civic also gets an all-new interior, but the surprising fact about the new model is that it will be available with a turbocharged 1.5L VTEC engine. With Valve Timing Control (VTC) for both the intake and exhaust, a turbocharger and an electronic wastegate, the Civic gets 173 PS and 220 Newton meters of torque. Honda says the Civic will also be available with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine.
Honda Cars Philippines says that the 2016 Civic will be making its debut soon.
