The Ford Ranger, Fiesta and SUV lineup continue to be the brand's best-selling nameplates.
Ford Philippines has recently proclaimed its best-ever performance with retail sales rising 40 percent year-over-year to 1,877 units. The record March was driven by continued strength in demand for the Ranger, Fiesta and Ford’s leading SUV lineup in the Philippines.
In addition, the March performance also capped Ford’s best-ever first quarter in the Philippines with overall retail sales increasing 43 percent year-over-year to 5,273 units.
“Our momentum in the first quarter is being driven by our full lineup of global Ford vehicles that is allowing us to become a brand of choice for Filipinos.We continue to make progress on our One Ford plan, and together with our dealer partners we remain firmly committed to providing the very best customer and ownership experience,” said Kay Hart, Managing Director, Ford Philippines.
The compact EcoSport SUV still continues to attract a wide range of customers as the sales figure for March amounted to 763 units, its best monthly performance since being launched in Philippines one year ago. In total, the EcoSport delivered sales of 2,157 units from January to March, making it Ford’s best-selling nameplate in Q1.
The best-selling pickup truck in the Philippines in 2014, the Ford Ranger, continued its momentum in March with sales rising 41 percent year over year to 792 units. First quarter sales have risen to 27 percent which amounted to 2,058 units as demand continues across the full lineup of 13 variants available in the Philippines.
The sporty Ford Fiesta contributed to the March performance with sales of 132 units. The Fiesta features Ford’s award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine, which delivers the power and performance of a with improved fuel economy and reduced emissions levels.
Ford’s leading SUV lineup in the Philippines helped drive the March performance.
The premium mid-sized Explorer delivered sales of 80 units in March. The high-performance Explorer Sport was launched in October and features a powerful 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine and smart technologies that include PowerFold third-row seats, Hands-Free Tailgate and inflatable rear seat belts.
Deliveries of the Escape began in February and finished March with overall sales of 80 units. The Escape is offered in both 1.6L and 2.0L EcoBoost variants. The outgoing Everest was able to add 56 units in terms of sales for the month of March.
The next-generation Ford Everest will soon be launched in the Philippines, as the company previously revealed an example of the popular SUV during the 11th Manila International Auto Show.
“We’re so excited to give Filipinos their first look at the new Everest. This next-generation SUV is completely redesigned, both inside and out, and we are confident it will even exceed our customer’s already high expectations,” said Hart.
Ford remains on track with its plans to continue expanding its nationwide dealer network to a total of 40 locations this year, including the opening of Ford Malolos in Bulacan and Central Luzon next month. The dealer expansion is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to further enhance its customer and ownership experience to support Ford’s rapidly growing customer base across the country.
