2016 Ford Explorer gets updated tech and styling
Ford Philippines announced that the 2.3-liter variant of the 2016 Explorer will be available in all Ford dealerships nationwide this month.
Sporting a new look, both inside and out, the company says the 2016 Explorer delivers the ideal combination of form and function that has redefined the sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment.
The 2016 Explorer made its Philippine debut last November 2015 featuring an updated tech and refreshed exterior.
Outside, the new Explorer is fitted with heightened grille and LED headlamps paired with a new closed-off lower roof rack and a new rear spoiler help to improve aerodynamics.
It also features a segment-first Front 180 Degree Camera with Washer. The wide angle lens allows the driver to have a better view when parking in tight spaces while the washer eliminates the hassles of a blurry display. First seen in the redesigned Focus, the 2016 Explorer Sport features Front Park Assist. The system acts as an aid to the front camera and is equipped with sensors to warn the driver of oncoming vehicles.
The 2.3-liter variant of the 2016 Explorer delivers 274 PS at 5500rpm and 408 Nm of torque at 3500rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed 'SelectShift' automatic transmission.
It is priced at PhP 2,479,000 and comes in three colors: Tuxedo Black, White Platinum and Magnetic Mettalic.
