The festivities begin

Ford's globally popular small car, the new Ford Fiesta is coming to the Philippine subcompact car market in October 2010, closely timed with the introduction of the much-awaited vehicle in other ASEAN markets, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Filipino customers will be able to choose between a sleek and stylish Ford Fiesta four-door sedan and a bold and sexy five-door hatchback in a total of six variants and eight sophisticated colors, all designed for a new generation of drivers with a taste for fun and freedom.

The all-new Ford Fiesta boasts of being irresistibly stylish with Ford's state-of-the-art kinetic design. Surprising and distinctive from every angle, the two models are loaded with technologically savvy features and an engaging interior with never-before seen advancements in its category.

Available in two fuel-efficient I4 engines in either a 1.4L or 1.6L, it promises a powertrain and driving dynamics balanced for an altogether fun-to-drive offering. And as another first, the Fiesta also possesses Ford's innovative new best-in-class six-speed, dual-clutch automatic PowerShift transmission.

The debut of the newest Ford global compact car follows a whirlwind series of introductions that started in Europe just over a year ago and has spread all over the world. Since its introduction, more than 1 million Fiestas have been sold globally.

In the Philippine market, the introduction of the Fiesta began last June with the launch of a revolutionary digital campaign- ConnectWithFiesta. Ford Group Philippines orchestrated the introduction of the Ford Fiesta in the digital world with the launch three online portals developed to engage a wider market of online users and fans, connecting them with the global Ford Fiesta phenomena:, and Ford Fiesta Philippines on Facebook.

The Fiesta body style and engine range

Now, local Ford Fiesta enthusiasts who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Ford Fiesta will be able to see the vehicle on display at the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show this August 19 to 22, 2010 at the World Trade Center.

The new Fiesta will be available in three models: Style, Trend and Sport. The three trim options are offered in the following configurations: Style is in a 95 PS 1.4L 4-door manual transmission, while the Trend trim is available in both a 1.4L and a 1.6L engine in both 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback, and the Sport model boasts of a 121 PS 1.6L 5-door hatch back body with 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission.

All of these will be built in a new USD 500-million passenger car facility at AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) in Rayong, Thailand.

Style models are equipped with a 1.4L capacity in a four-door sedan body style powered by a 16-valve Duratec I4 engine.

Trend models are available in both four- and five-door configurations with a choice of a the larger, more powerful 1.6L Twin independent - Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) engine in automatic transmission or a fuel-efficient 1.4L in manual transmission.

With the higher output engine, Trend and Sport models also receive the new six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission as standard equipment in the 1.6L engine. The Sport and Trend models are equipped with Ford's Electronic Stability Program and Hill Launch Assist as standard equipment on the 1.6L engine.

Irresistibly connected - the Ford Fiesta way

All new Fiesta models are equipped with MP3 and AUX input connections for personal entertainment devices.

Exclusive to the Sport model is Voice Control technology paired with Bluetooth, another first-in-segment feature. This provides wireless connectivity to a mobile phone, allowing you to use your voice to make and receive calls, change the radio station or music track, all playing through a six-speaker sound system. Sport models also are available with a USB plug-in feature.

A full rainbow of colors will be available for Fiesta models. The color palate for four-door models includes Cool White, Highlight Silver, Sparkling Gold, Ice Blue and Black Mica. Colors exclusive to five-door models are: True Red, Aurora Blue and Chili Orange.

Unique to the Fiesta is the 24 Hour Parts Guarantee, more than 54 pre-selected parts for the repair and maintenance of your Fiesta is guaranteed within 24 hours. This includes parts for the engine, driveline, brakes and suspension, body and exterior. Ford delivers great service by providing speedy repair within 24 hours of the customer's authorization to purchase or the part is free of charge. This is applicable to the 54 selected parts (120 items) under the maintenance, wear and tear and minor repairs, this also excludes labor costs.

The Ford Fiesta line-up starts at a P670,000 for the Style in 1.4L 4-door sedan with manual transmission. The 1.4L Trend models are priced at P685,000 with a choice of either a 4-door or 5-door in manual transmission, while the 1.6L Trend models touting Ford's 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission, standard ESP and Hill Launch Assist are also available in either sedan or hatchback with a price tag of P766,000.

The Ford Fiesta Sport variant is priced at P816,000, coming equipped with a 1.6L 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission as well as dual SRS airbags and the In-Car Entertainment equipped with Voice Control, USB Connectivity and Bluetooth.
