The 4th new A3 variant is the first ever quattro-equipped cabriolet model
The new Audi A3 Cabriolet will make its debut in a few days time at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The fourth model in the new A3 lineup will be the first ever quattro-equipped cabriolet.
The current model draws its inspiration from the lines and proportions of the new Audi A3 Saloon. The car’s dimensions grew to achieve a sleeker profile with the capacity to completely conceal the soft top when in open mode. It measures 4420 mm long, 1790 mm wide, and 1410 mm tall. The bigger profile can be supported by any of these powerplant choices: 1.4 TFSI (with 140 PS), 1.8 TFSI (with 180 PS), and 2.0 TDI (with 150 PS). Other engines will follow later on such as the 2.0 TFSI that gives out 300 PS.
The front of the A3 Cabriolet is distinguishably Audi with the single frame radiator grille with flat headlights. The top is made of a soft fabric stretched over a lightweight kinematic mechanism made of magnesium-steel. While found in the interior is an electrically retractable 5.8” color monitor with a Driver’s Information System.
The Audi experience is further enhanced with its assistance and entertainment systems. Features include adaptive cruise control, side assist, active lane assist, camera-based traffic sign and speed limit recognition, and park assist.
Following its Frankfurt debut, the first batch of Audi A3 Cabriolets is expected to arrive in March 2014.
