Geely has detailed the GC9 ahead of its full reveal during the automaker’s Brand Night on December 15 at the Beijing Water Cube in China.

As previously reported, the GC9 was designed by Peter Horbury, the former Volvo chief designer. It is based on the KC Concept that was first previewed during the 2014 Shanghai Auto Show and was developed by a global team from Gothenburg, Shanghai and Los Angeles.

The interior of the GC9 features electronic rear seat, heads up display, in-car entertainment system and air purifying systems. Geely says the GC9 was developed to with safety as the number one priority and with a goal to achieve a 5-star rating in the C-NCAP crash tests.

The Chinese automaker equipped the GC9 with a number of safety features including a crash migration system that automatically applies brakes in case the vehicle comes too close to the vehicle in front. Moreover, the GC9 also comes with a 360 degree camera view and blind spot awareness system.

Under the hood, it will powered by three engines ranging from a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter, a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine and a 3.5-liter V6 unit. All of the engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. However, power outputs are yet to be released by the automaker.
