A car that suits urban journeys

The French automaker Peugeot has just unveiled the 108 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Peugeot says the compact vehicle is suited for 'urban journeys' and is available as either a hatchback or convertible model.

The Peugeot 108 has an projector type headlamps combine with black and chrome bezels that gives the vehicle a sharp expression, according to the French automaker. The headlamps are also fitted with LED day-time running lights. The compact form of the vehicle is highlighted by the front and rear overhangs. The rear of the Peugeot 108 has ruby red tail lamps which contains all of the functions, including reversing light, and fog lamp. It also has a large tailgate that extends from the spoiler to the trunk.

Peugeot says the interior of the 108 has a comfortable cabin that feels like it has come from a much larger premium car. It has an analogue speedometer and an LCD screen. The 108 also has a 7-inch touch screen, a push start button with the Peugeot Open and Go system, and an automatic air conditioning. It is also equipped with six airbags fitted as standard.

The 108 has four three-cylinder power units which are the following:

  • 1.0-liter e-VTi 69 PS 5-speed manual
  • 1.0-liter VTi  69 PS 5-speed manual
  • 1.0-liter VTi 69 PS 5-speed electronic
  • 1.2-liter PureTech VTi 83 PS 5-speed manual
