0.7 sec separates the Top 4 for Day 2
While Day 1's competition had a big gap between the Top 4 contestants, Day 2 was far closer; in fact, just 0.7 of a second separated the Top 4 for Day 2 of the AutoIndustriya.com GT5 Challenge at the Manila Auto Salon.
Using the 2010 Subaru Impreza STI on the Trial Mountain circuit, contestants were challenged by the tricky nature of the track.
In first place was the young AI GT5 Challenge veteran Jan Michael Lacuna with a time of 1:36.436. The young Lacuna placed third overall at the last event at the Trans Sport Show, when he bested out professional racer Enzo Pastor.
Victor Buensuceso was in second place, clocking a best time of 1:36.721. Buensuceso, also a veteran of previous GT5 Challenges, set the lap time early, and was edged out by Lacuna in the final hours of the day.
Prior to Buensuceso's run it was Joward Policarpio on top of the leaderboard, with a time of 1:36.979. Policarpio was a former winner of the C! Top Driver Challenge and former instructor with the Tuason Racing School.
In fourth place was Ferdinand Gulle Jr. with a lap time of 1:37.102, rounding out the qualifiers for the day.
Lacuna, Buensuceso, Policarpio and Gulle will return for the tournament proper, featuring head to head battle racing on Sunday, December 2, 5PM.
