Hiroshi Shimizu assumes presidency at HCPI

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., recently announced the arrival of its new president and general manager, Mr. Hiroshi Shimizu, who assumed office effective April 1, 2007. Mr. Shimizu is replacing the post formerly held by Mr. Takashi Sekiguchi, who has been reassigned to a new post in Japan.

Prior to Mr. Shimizu's appointment in the Philippines, he was the sales director of Honda Siel Cars, India, Ltd. (HCSI).

Mr. Shimizu has worked in various locations in Asia, which includes Thailand and Japan. He started his training in car retail operations in the Suzuka Factory in Japan. After one year, he was in-charge of zonal office and worked as area manager for three years. He also had exposure in retail operations in Japan and Thailand.

"As the new president of HCPI, I hope to see Honda associates to believe in themselves and exhibit teamwork and hard work in providing high quality vehicles for total customer satisfaction," says Mr. Shimizu. "Five years from now, I believe that HCPI can reach number one position in passenger car category with these basic principles," he added.

Mr. Shimizu said that he carries with him fond memories of India. Yet, he is very excited in this new challenge ahead of him. He looks forward to working harmoniously with the entire Philippine Honda team.
