Honda PH simplifies City lineup, adds new Garmin AV Navi to premium models

Honda PH introduced an updated version of the City during the launch of the all-new HR-V held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay, City.

According to Honda, the City is fitted with new audio head unit systems. The VX and VX+ variants get an Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) system along with a seven-inch touch screen display. The AVN is equipped with Garmin navigation and comes with features such as 3D map viewing, next turn information (distance), speed limit reminder, over speed warning, expressway exit guide and 'photoreal' junction view.

In addition, the AVN system is embedded with Honda Dealers Point of Interest (POI) to allow users to search all Honda sales and service locations nationwide. The AVN also allows one-touch access to emergency health, traffic, and public safety contact numbers. Different multimedia functions such as DVD and CD player, hands-free telephone (HFT), voice command, smartphone connectivity, USB and FM/AM radio are also equipped with the system.

The updated City VX Navi and VX+ also comes with two parking assistance features. First is the back up sensors that warn the driver through a series of beeps that go faster as an obstacle gets nearer. The second is the Multi-View rear camera with Dynamic Guidelines which shows the projected path of the car while backing up. For optimal visibility, it comes with three camera modes: rear view, side view and bird's eye view.

On the other hand, the audio system for the E variants features a 2-DIN Audio unit with capabilities such as Bluetooth connectivity, USB plug-in, CD player and FM/AM radio.

The updated City is still powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine that delivers 120 PS. Honda adds that the City E CVT and above variants are equipped with the Eco Assist system which features the 'ECON' mode. Engaging the ECON mode controls the engine, drive-by-wire, transmission and air-conditioner to further improve the vehicle's fuel efficiency.

Lastly, Honda announced that the City has been applied for Euro IV compliance, waiting for approval from the government. Conformity to Euro-4 level of emission translates to reduction in emissions of hazardous particles that will help mitigate the occurrence of ozone depletion and global warming.

The Honda City will be available in the following colors: Gold Brown Metallic (for VX+ Navi CVT & VX Navi CVT); Carnelian Red Pearl (for VX Navi CVT & E CVT); Crystal Black Pearl (for VX Navi CVT, E variants); Modern Steel Metallic; and Taffeta White.

The updated City retails at:
