Honda has announced the launch of the new 2005 CR-V line-up. Honda's best selling SUV has grown to include a new and more powerful variant, which is the CR-V 2.4 liter i-VTEC, in addition to the 2.0 liter i-VTEC power plant.

The 2.4 liter i-VTEC engine is capable of producing 160 Hp/5,500 rpm and 217.56 Nm/4,500 rpm. This enables the CR-V to pull more at lower engine speeds. It also features Drive-By-Wire technology that provides crisp acceleration response, specifically from standstill.

Much noticeable exterior changes of the 2005 cR-V compared to its predecessor is the more aggressive front styling. Chrome front grille, cylindrical shape headlights, new taillamps and body-colored front and rear bumper design give the CR-V a bolder and more solid appearance. New design fog lamps, spare tire cover, chrome door handles, and body-colored side mirrors are standard in the new CR-V. New design 16" alloy wheels will be the new norm of the 2005 CR-V.

Interior appointments are highlighted by the latest 2-DIN CD-stereo head unit with MP3 playback, along with the digital trip meter with fuel consumption gauge. In the name of luxury, the cabin has been significantly enhanced. Safety was also enhanced with the redesign of the rear seats which improved rear visibility.

Aside from the standard ABS/EBD and dual airbag tandem, the new CR-V now incorporates an integrated keyless entry system with immobilizer to deter car thieves. Also, in line with Honda's commitment to preserve the environment, the new Honda CR-V is EURO4 emissions compliant.

SRP for the CR-V ranges from PHP 1.040M for the 2WD manual transmission variant to PHP 1.305M for the 2.4 automatic transmission variant.
