New crossover likely to be based on Brio and built in India
The Honda Vision XS-1 has been confirmed for world debut at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo on February 5 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida Delhi NCR.
Honda says the Vision XS-1 crossover concept "features sporty styling and outstanding utility space based on Honda's unique packaging technologies." Usually when the Japanese automaker uses terms like 'unique packaging technologies’ and 'outstanding utility space', it means that the model will be a compact vehicle.
The rumor mills have been busy with indications that the Vision XS-1 would likely be based on the Brio platform. If true, this would extend the subcompact platform to underpin four models. The Brio platform is current the base for the Brio hatchback, Brio Amaze sedan and the Mobilio MPV.
The Honda Mobilio MPV and Jazz will also make their respective Indian debuts at the show as well.
