Local Hyundai distributor to reveal updates for three popular models

Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), Philippine distributor of Hyundai vehicles will debut the face lifted Accent subcompact sedan, Elantra compact sedan and Tucson compact SUV in December. This was personally revealed by HARI president and CEO, Ms. Fe Perez-Agudo at an intimate lunch gathering today.

"We chose to launch in December because we feel that if we waited for January, it would be too late already," said Ms. Agudo when asked about the timing of the reveal.

The current Elantra was introduced in April of 2011 with a 'wind craft' signature body line and a dynamically huge improvement over its predecessor. The model received its update recently in Korea featuring slightly extended front and rear bumpers, a sharper and more sculpted design. Interior options for the Korean release include 'Flex-Steer', super vision cluster, cooling glove compartment and a new 'blue link' app which provides remote functions like locking, unlocking and starting. The app is available for either Android or iOS, also provides basic vehicle diagnostics with information coming the car’s ECU. It is powered by either a 1.6-liter GDI engine or 1.6-liter CRDi engine with VGT.

The outgoing Accent was introduced in December of 2010 as a 2011 model. The updated version in Korea features LED daytime running lights incorporated into the updated headlights, and sharper taillamps. Vehicle Dynamic Control has also been made available in the premium variant released in Korea.

2014 Hyundai Tucson

The current Tucson made its debut in late 2009 as one of the first vehicles featuring the brand’s 'Fluidic Sculpture'. It was penned at the Hyundai Europe design center based in Germany. The Philippine update will be based on the European facelift revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The headlights and tail lights were also sharpened to mimic its bigger sibling with LED highlights added as well. Other features include 'flex steer', super vision cluster, illuminated cupholders, eco-drive, and a parking assistance system.

Specs and details for the Philippine release however, were not yet given.
