Lamborghini holds world premiere of the 760 PS Aventador SV Roadster
The most powerful Lamborghini roadster to date has finally been revealed after Automobili Lamborghini recently debuted the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce (SV) Roadster in Monterey, California.
“The Superveloce is the purest, most sports-oriented and fastest series production Lamborghini ever. The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
Revealed during ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’, the topless Aventador SV Roadster is only limited to 500 units, 100 units less than the Aventador SV coupe.
Design-wise, it still bears exterior resemblances with the hardtop version and only differs with the lightweight removable two-piece roof that is made out of carbon fiber and resin. As the roof only weighs less than 6kg, those that want open-air motoring can easily stow it in the luggage compartment.
Aboard, the roadster is upholstered in black and is contrasted with streaks of red that can be seen on the door panels, seats, dashboard and center console.
Like the coupe version, its 6.5-liter V12 pumps out 760 PS and 690 Nm of torque, allowing the Aventador SV Roadster to go from 0 – 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of more than 350 km/h. All of that power is transferred to all four wheels via a 7-speed semi-automatic gearbox.
Other features present in the newly-launched roadster are: Magneto Rheological Suspension, pushrod damping system, Lamborghini Dynamic Steering and a rear power window that can allow the wail of the V12 engine to fill the cabin.
Deliveries of the Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce Roadster will begin in early 2016.
